Guide
Writing your first invitation
The reason first, a few short lines, then the link. Then wait.
Start with why the person came to mind. Keep it to a few sentences, share the invitation, and let them reply in their own time.
What you can send
Your invitation
“Hi [name], you came to mind because [something specific about them]. We're building Encounter around community, learning, and travel, and I think you'd really enjoy [the part that fits them]. Here's your invitation. Have a look and let me know if you'd like to explore it with us. [your invitation link]”
What to leave out
Leave out the full explanation, the apology, and the request for a call. The invitation does the explaining, and the call comes once they're interested.
Make it yours
Make it yours
- What's the specific reason for this person?
- Would you send a message or a voice note?
For example: “You came to mind because you've been saying all year that you want to travel with friends again. I think you'd love the trips we're planning together. Here's your invitation. Have a look and let me know what you think.”
